After Speaking with many teams due to play their final league fixtures this Sunday and recognising that it will be difficult for the majority of teams to field a team we have decided to award all games as a draw. In the circumstances this is the only option which is fair on all teams who were due to play this Sunday.

We have decided to call all fixtures as a draw because as i'm sure you will agree everyone wants to be able to see a final league table for this semester and also for the season to be complete before the majority of players return home at the end of this Academic year.

From the experiences learned from this year we can guarentee that next season fixtures will only ever be played during the time slot stated at the start of the season when teams sign-up to the league e.g. fixtures will only be played between 7pm and 10pm on Monday nights.

Once again we apologise unreservadly for the problems which have happened at the end of this season and we are offering FREE entry into the Semester One league next year for teams who will be around for the 08/09 academic year.

Mercury Team.

We admit that this season has not run as smoothly as semester one. This was mainly due to the number of teams which were allowed to participate in the league. As a result of 15 teams being allowed into the league 4 sets of TBA fixtures needed to be arranged. With hindsight they should have been arranged towards to start of the season and not the end of the season as it proved difficult to arrange them within the semester dates. We allowed 15 teams into the league as a result of feedback from teams who played in the successful semester one league, teams wanted more competition in the league and more games for their team entry fee. We accept that, with hindsight, only 12 teams should have been allowed to enter.

Before the start of this year Intra-Mural football at Hull was not at the standard it could have been. There were no guarantees of a referee, fixtures were not known until a day before the fixture, results were very rarely posted anywhere in the Sports Centre and no league tables were anywhere to be seen. This is our first year running the Intra-Mural and obviously we have learnt a lot, mainly through mistakes, about running the leagues. This year we wanted to give teams full fixture lists for the season, updated tables every week and team interaction via the banter room.

With regards to the remaining fixtures...They were arranged for Sunday 1st because teams have found it difficult to get all their players together during the exam period. With it being the day after the ball the majority of teams should be able to get all their players together as they will be around for the ball and the exam schedule should be slowing down going into the last week.
